// context

About Agoda

Agoda is a global online travel platform owned by Booking Holdings, serving millions of travelers across 200+ countries. As a Senior Frontend Engineer I led end-to-end delivery of the multi-city trip booking flow - a complex data-heavy UI handling multiple flight legs, date combinations and pricing logic, orchestrated as micro-frontends over a Node.js and Scala BFF serving 10+ US bank white-label partners, driving a 15% lift in booking adoption across 68M+ annual flight tickets.

// challenge

The challenge

Agoda needed to build a multi-city trip booking flow - a complex data-heavy UI handling multiple flight legs, date combinations and pricing logic simultaneously. The flow needed to integrate into legacy systems without breaking existing booking journeys, while meeting strict performance and accessibility standards.

// approach

What I did

Engineered the responsive, accessible Multi-city Trip booking flow using React.js and TypeScript with a micro-frontend architecture

Integrated multi-city workflow into legacy systems using Backend-for-Frontend patterns with Node.js and Scala - reducing JavaScript payloads by 32%

Owned the full RFC-to-production path for booking flows - frontend, BFF orchestration, API contracts, provider integrations, pricing, ancillaries and release rollout

Shipped the Agodians Chrome Extension - internal debugging and feature flag tool adopted by 300+ engineers, backed by Jest, Playwright and CI/CD pipelines for zero-downtime releases
